Episode 153 – Peter Zounis (Spunkbubbles)

This week’s guest is none other than Peter Zounis, guitarist from the old Sydney punk legends, Spunkbubbles. The Spunkbubbles were a band that lasted around 4 or 5 years breaking up at the end of the 80s. They had a demo, released two records on Waterfront Records, had some tracks on compilations, and then the band unfortunately dissolved. Still, 35+ years later, those classic records still get played in the LGL office quite often. And why not? I’m pretty stoked to have Pete on the show in another addition to my never-ending quest to interview someone from every band I loved as I grew up. I hope you enjoy the show.

This is one interview that has been a long time coming. My guest this week is none other than Screamfeeder bassist and singer / songwriter extraordinaire, Kellie Lloyd. This is a fantastic chat about everything from young Kel growing up and discovering music to her time in Screamfeeder and her solo works, to coping mechanisms and anxiety. Episode 141 – Pete Kostic (Front End Loader / Regurgitator / Meat Cake)

I don’t even know how to deal with this one cos this week’s episode is huge! Pete Kostic is this week’s guest and it’s so much fun as I go all nerd with one of my all time favourite drummers. Pete has a history in music that is so damn impressive to any Aussie rock nerd and we only just scratch the surface in this hour of power but never fear because there will be a follow up down the track but right now, this is one show you are going to enjoy.  We talk about being a part of Front End Loader, his time with The Hard-Ons, and of course playing with one of Australia’s most successful “indie” bands, Regurgitator. Pete is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet and I am thankful he agreed to come on this show and share his hilarious stories.

Episode 128 – Simon Day (Ratcat)

In my neverending quest to interview every single band I grew up listening to, your favourite Long Gone Loser is back with one helluva show. This week I bring you one of my most requested interviews. This interview with singer / songwriter, Simon Day, was conducted upstairs at the Corner Hotel before their show in November, 2014. While that was almost three years ago, it is as relevant today as it was then because this is a chat about history and music and the career of Sydney’s power pop band, RATCAT. Since I first started doing music journalism in the early 90s writing a zine, I had always wanted to secure an interview with RATCAT and it just seemed impossible but voila, here it is! I am so damn happy it is now in podcast form for you to hear. This is one of the best interviews found within the LGL archives.
