So for years people have been asking me if I will ever get someone from The Hellacopters on the show since the name of the zine I started in 1998 and this podcast I started in 2007 was named after one of their songs. Well, my friends, it finally happened and it’s awesome! I got The Hellacopters’ drummer, Robert Eriksson, on to have a chat about all things ‘Copters and the like in this two hour spectacular of radness. The Hellacopters mean so much to a lot of people, myself included, and so Robert coming on this show was pretty darn special for me. I have featured interviews with both Nicke Andersson (vocals / guitars) and Robert at separate times in the zine in the past and they were on the cover of the very first issue, but many years have passed since those zine days and The Hellacopters have reformed and the people have been more than excited. Is it just a reunion? Will there be more shows? New albums? What is coming next? Well I made sure to ask Robert all about those hot topics and it’s all here. We start from his beginnings, how the band formed, their unfortunate demise in 1998, to their reunion shows happening this year. It’s a great chat and I think you’re going to love it. The annual Long Gone Loser Rock Show Record Store Day Round-Up is here! Michele (who didn’t participate but went to see Cock Sparrer) teams up with Damo (who did participate and didn’t see Cock Sparrer) and our good friend Chris in Chicago (who also participated and also didn’t see Cock Sparrer) and we talk Record Store Day shenanigans and what records we bought. It’s pretty darn silly. You can listen in right now by clicking on THIS LINK.

This week’s guest is none other than Kamala Parks! Fans of the Berkeley punk scene would no doubt be familiar with her work. Not only was she the drummer for bands like Kamala And The Karnivores, Cringer, Naked Aggression, The Gr’ups, etc. but she was also one of the key people in starting The Gilman Street Project; the iconic punk rock DIY venue that gave such bands as Green Day and The Offspring a place to play before they were launched into the mainstream in 1994. This inspiring interview has Kamala opening up about her involvement in the Berkeley punk scene from booking shows in her hometown to touring Europe – all before she was 20 years old. She tells of working with the likes of Green Day and The Offspring as well as the story behind the Screeching Weasel song, Kamala’s Too Nice. This interview is really something special. If this doesn’t make you want to get up and start making things happen, I don’t know what will. We all need a Kamala in our lives to show us that anything is possible. I hope you enjoy the show which you can listen to right now by clicking on THIS LINK. Don’t forget to subscribe by clicking on the link on the left.

Wow! Never in my life did I ever think I would be chatting with one of the greatest music engineers and producers of all time but alas, the stars aligned and it happened. My guest this week is none other than Ed Stasium, the legendary producer and engineer of many Ramones albums and cuts. This revealing interview tells all about how he fell into the career of an audio engineer and producer, working extensively with the Ramones, who played what, and he clears up some rumours and urban legends surrounding the recording of the Phil Spector produced End Of The Century album. We also talk about the final Joey Ramone solo album, …Ya Know?, and how that was put together, and so much more. Any fan of the Ramones is going to love this and you can hear it right now by clicking on THIS LINK.

All songs by the Ramones and a couple bonus cuts included from Stiv Bators and Soul Aslyum.
