Devon (Vocals) and Craigums (Bass) from All You Can Eat in Adelaide, Sept 94.

This week’s show is nothin’ but a good time as Craigums from the bands The Love Songs, All You Can Eat, Your Mother, and countless others, joins me to discuss all of the punk rock antics and his time seeing all the good bands, touring Australia so they can play Mildura, joining bands when you don’t even own an instrument let alone play an instrument, putting out records on a bunch of cool record labels, etc. the list goes on. This show is a fun ride from start to finish. Get a pen and paper handy cos you’re probably going to be writing down a ton of notes so you can go and discover the bands he talks about. There’s a lot of great stuff in here so do yourself a favour.

This week’s guest is none other than Rookie Rochelle from the Ramones-worshipping punk rockers from Long Island, The Young Rochelles. This is a great chat that gets in to some serious Ramones nerdery bigtime and we put forward a poll for the listeners of the LGLRS. Yep, we need to get to the bottom of the most asked question of every Ramones fan that has yet to be answered. This show is a good time and we hear so many rad stories. You’re gonna dig it. Who Stole the Keeshka? Yes indeed! A mystery that boggles us all and that is why this week’s guest is none other than award-winning* author, vocalist and podcast host, the one and only Rockin’ Reverend Norb from the almighty Boris The Sprinkler! Hell yeah, this is a guest we have wanted on the show for years so here it is in all it’s glory of the digital airwaves form coming to you via whatever means you listen to podcasts on! This episode is totally wacky and oddball to the hilt and that’s why it’s one you are gonna love. If you are not at all hip to the sounds of Boris The Sprinkler or his work with The Onions, you will want to be after this zany chat. * “Award Winning” sounds so much cooler than just plain “Author” so just roll with it, okay cos the fact remains, he should be award winning, dammit!

This month’s vinyl nerd session is here and Chris and Damo nerd out for however long it takes to nerd out over records. We discuss all the usual nerd stuff and tell stories about albums, about bands, about anything and everything to do with records. Also, Chris gives us his essential guide to lounge exotica music. All this and more, Dead Boys style, on the latest episode of the Long Gone Loser Rock Show!

Show amendment: the song by Jefferson Airplane is Law Man, NOT Outlaw. Dunno why I kept messing that up.

This week I welcome to the show IRON CHIC bassist and Dead Broke Rekerds head honcho, Mike Bruno! Iron Chic were recently in Australia tearing up a storm with their catchy anthemic songs for a new tomorrow. Mike took the time to sit with me and talk about vinyl nerdery. We talk about all sorts of legendary bands like Green Day, the Ramones, the Goo Goo Dolls, Soul Asylum, to name just a few, amongst a whole bunch of other fun topics and chit chat. If you love collecting records, you’re gonna dig this episode. If you like what you hear, please subscribe by clicking the link on the left of the page.

This week’s guest is none other than Kamala Parks! Fans of the Berkeley punk scene would no doubt be familiar with her work. Not only was she the drummer for bands like Kamala And The Karnivores, Cringer, Naked Aggression, The Gr’ups, etc. but she was also one of the key people in starting The Gilman Street Project; the iconic punk rock DIY venue that gave such bands as Green Day and The Offspring a place to play before they were launched into the mainstream in 1994. This inspiring interview has Kamala opening up about her involvement in the Berkeley punk scene from booking shows in her hometown to touring Europe – all before she was 20 years old. She tells of working with the likes of Green Day and The Offspring as well as the story behind the Screeching Weasel song, Kamala’s Too Nice. This interview is really something special. If this doesn’t make you want to get up and start making things happen, I don’t know what will. We all need a Kamala in our lives to show us that anything is possible. I hope you enjoy the show which you can listen to right now by clicking on THIS LINK. Don’t forget to subscribe by clicking on the link on the left. (more…)
