Episode 105

This week’s show features an interview with Alex Skolnick from Bay Area thrashers, Testament. For me, Testament are easily one of the best bands of the genre and I am stoked Alex came on the show and chatted about learning from Joe Satriani, moving to New York City, his love of jazz music and how it works with Testament, and so much more. If Testament are a band you dig, if guitar nerdery is your jam, then this interview will appeal to you. Heaps good! Listen right now by clicking on THIS LINK and if you haven’t already, subscribe to the show by clicking on the link over there on the left. Enjoy! (more…)

Having been involved with zine culture for over 25 years, someone, somewhere thought that LGL’s Damo was experienced enough to be part of Melbourne Music Week’s panel on zine culture, Zine Scene.

Along with fellow zine mercenaries such as Richard Watts from Burning Times zine, Laura MacFarlane from Woozy, and Matt Ryan from Munster Times, these independent publishers will be delivering the goods, Judas Priest style, at what will be an awesome event on all things Zines! Heaps rad!

Tickets are limited and can be obtained from the website below.

YAY!!!

Bad Cop Bad Cop

We have been playing them solidly on the show this past year and so it was inevitable that, Stacey Dee, guitarist and vocalist from Californian punk rockers, Bad Cop Bad Cop, joined the show. It’s 90 minutes of radness and Stacey talks about everything from the band forming to song writing and recording albums to battling drug addiction and coming out a winner. All of this and more is right here, right now on the latest episode of the Long Gone Loser Rock Show. This band rules and they have just started a six week tour across the USA with The Interrupters so if they pass through your city, get out and go see them cos they’re freakin’ awesome! In the meantime, you can listen to the show right now by clicking on THIS LINK!

All songs by Bad Cop Bad Cop, obviously.

You can buy their records here.

The Mr T Experience

Michele and Damo are back again for the second installment of the interview with Mr T Experience frontman and best selling author, Dr Frank. This episode follows on from the previous show’s shenanigans and we hear Dr Frank take us on a walk through the album Love Is Dead and everything that follows right up til the release of the brand new album, King Dork Approximately which is out TODAY, October 4th. So, we have a special treat for you… we debut a brand spanking new song so if you can’t wait til the book arrives in your hands to download the whole album, we play a track from it to give you a lil taster til you have have the book and the album yourself. Not only that but we also finish the show with an unreleased MTX track that was supplied by Dr Frank himself. It’s not what you would expect but it’s quirky enough for you to still enjoy. So jump on in and listen to part 2 by clicking on THIS LINK.

All tunes by The Mr T Experience, of course.

You can stay up to date with all things Dr Frank through his website at: www.frankportman.com

The Mr T Experience

This week’s episode features part 1 of a 2 part interview with non other than Dr Frank of the California pop punk rockers, The Mr T Experience. This is one helluva ride! Dr Frank talks with Michele and Damo about the band’s humble beginnings and career highlights up til and including the album Our Bodies, Our Selves (part 2 follows from Love Is Dead onward coming October 4th). This is one awesome chat and is so much fun as Dr Frank goes into detail about his song writing and tales surrounding those around him. There’s chats about Gilman Street, Lookout Records, Kevin Army, The Queers, movies,  being understood, being misunderstood, antics, shenanigans, etc. It’s awesome and you can listen in right now by clicking on THIS LINK.

All music by The Mr T Experience, of course.
