About the Editor
Long Gone Loser Magazine was something I started in 1999 after seeing the Hellacopters live in Australia. I have been writing zines since the early 90′s starting out with a zine called “Spiders In The Biscuit Jar” and moving on to “Purple Monkey Dishwasher” and finishing up with “Long Gone Loser”. In a world where the printed zine is fast becoming extinct, I have decided to lay the magazine to rest after a grueling 13 years. I will be publishing one last issue and have begun working on a book about zines and what I believe was my best work from my past.
Everything written for LGL should be taken with a pinch of salt. A tongue in cheek. A bit or sarcasm. Laughter is the best medicine and if you are angry, pissed, or annoyed at what’s written here, then simply don’t read it. You can’t please everyone. Plus, there are countless other websites that you can read about music. Why waste your time on something you don’t like? You only live once so make the most of it instead of chewing sour grapes and producing negative energy cos really, anger and hatred is totally lame.
Apart from the zine, I also do a weekly podcast called the Long Gone Loser Rock Show which is where I play new music, old music, undiscovered music, forgotten gems, and talk rock, feature interviews with bands you should already be listening to but probably aren’t, and just general all-round rock n roll chit-chat. I have interviewed the likes of Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx, Myspace queen Tila Tequila, The True Lovers, Fu Manchu, Manowar, The Yum Yums, Asia Carrera, The Wildhearts, Backyard Babies, Mary Carey, Dinosaur Jr., New Bomb Turks, Nashville Pussy, plus many more.
I currently reside in Melbourne, Australia, and even though my postal details are in SA, I still receive my mail so if you have sent me something to review or play on the show, just write me a message and let me know you sent it and I will keep an eye out for it.
